Valby Ice Chains |
|
|
|
The Valby Ice Chains are
made for the most demanding uses in logging and
farming. They have proven themselves on both sides of the Arctic Circle
to withstand any challenge in material or design. The Valby chains do
not become brittle in cold weather and the traction surface holds well
on ice, snow, and on or off the road. The Valby chains come in two
traction patterns: |

Steel Material |
The chains are made of Boron steel
which is only found in prime, top quality traction chains famous for
their resistance to wear. Boron steel is stronger and harder than normal
steel. The double number of studs improve traction and further increase
the life of the chain. The figure above shows why Boron steel outwears
normal chain materials 2 to 1. The hardness of normal steel goes down
steeply when the case-hardened surface has worn off. Already after 1/8' wear, normal steel has
fallen to Wicker's scale hardness of 200. The boron steel hardness
remains at
500. Buying
one set o f
Valby chains can save you the price of many sets of weaker chains. The
Valby chains are available in 23/64: (9mm) and 7/16" (11mm)
material. The cost of Valby chains is very competitive despite the
expensive material used in manufacturing. Compare the prices! This is
truly a situation where you can pay less and get more.
Each link that comes in contact with the ground has two
studs. The twisted links stabilize the movements of the chain, so the
studs come into contact with the ice at the right angle. |
